Real Madrid women's team beats FC Barcelona for the first time
In the first clásico of the season that took place on Sunday 23 March, the match corresponding to the 23rd matchday of Liga F, Real Madrid defeated Barça 1-3. Alba Redondo's goal and Caroline Weir's brace secured victory for the Whites for the first time in history. However, there was controversy related to an offside on the part of the Culé team.
The Barça girls would have won 2-1 thanks to the first goal by Graham Hansen and the last one by Jan Fernández, which in the 80th minute was disallowed for an alleged offside. This goal was decisive for Barcelona, who, had it not been disallowed, would have beaten Los Merengues once again.
Madrid's victory moved them to within four points of Barça, who remain top of the competition.
