Simmons & Simmons renews managing partner for two more years

Simmons & Simmons has announced recently that managing partner Jeremy Hoyland will have his term extended by two years. This will mean that his tenure as managing partner now ends in April 2025.

Jeremy has been managing partner at the firm since 2011 and is currently serving his third term in the role. Under his leadership, Simmons has recorded its strongest financial results, as well as expanding into strategically significant markets, most recently the US West Coast. Not only this, Jeremy has been integral to the firm’s Covid response, ensuring there was no interruption to client service and overseeing continued business growth during a prolonged period of uncertainty.

Commenting on the decision to extend Jeremy’s term, senior partner Julian Taylor said: “Jeremy’s contribution to Simmons cannot be overstated. He has been a driving force in the firm’s most ambitious moves, including the development of our four sector strategy and growth of our Solutions business – he has really modernised the place. Extending his term by a further two years will allow him to finish the ambitious projects commenced during his time in post, while also enabling the necessary succession planning to take place to ensure a smooth transition for whoever the next managing partner may be. This continues to be an exciting time for Simmons.”

Jeremy commented: “I am absolutely delighted to receive the support of the partnership for the continuance of my tenure as Managing Partner. It is a role that I love in a firm that is so highly regarded around the world. As the war and ensuing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine continues, I will endeavour to manage and lead the firm in a way that reflects our values and integrity."
