Reed Smith and its commitment to inclusion and diversity
---
Reed Smith, a firm known for its commitment to inclusion and diversity, has announced a partnership agreement with the Black Young Professionals (BYP) platform, with the aim of increasing the number of black candidates to work at the firm
Created in 2016, BYP is an initiative that seeks to counteract the professional inequalities suffered by a significant portion of American society, especially in the legal profession, a sector in which many of its professionals leave because of racial inequalities.
Through this partnership, the US firm will have access to a network of 50,000 black professionals, as well as continuing its commitment to improving racial diversity in its offices.
The strategy is called the Racial Equity Action Plan (REAP), which aims to break down barriers to racial inequality in the legal sector.
"Our partnership is a further step in improving diversity within the firm, which we know enhances our ability to innovate and provide the best service to our clients," says Tamara Box, managing partner of Reed Smith in Europe and the Middle East.
