Paul Hastings' latest recruit strengthens its presence in Asia Pacific
Paul Hastings continues to expand its presence in the Asia Pacific region with the recent addition of Sarah Zhu as counsel in the Hong Kong office
Zhu has an extensive background in compliance and white-collar litigation. She also has extensive experience in arbitration proceedings.
"In the face of escalating geopolitical tensions and an unstable economic environment, global businesses need sophisticated lawyers to help them adjust to an increasingly complicated regulatory and enforcement paradigm," said Seth Zachary, chairman of Paul Hastings. "Both in China and cross-border, Sarah is a valuable addition to our team, enhancing our ability to guide clients through some of the most complex and multi-jurisdictional investigations."
Zhu has focused over the past decade on transactional due diligence, corporate investigations, anti-corruption compliance and white-collar proceedings. She has acted on a wide range of complex internal investigations and compliance due diligence reviews for multinational pharmaceutical and medical device clients on matters including regulatory, research and development, manufacturing, pricing and market access, and marketing. In addition, Ms. Zhu represents clients in commercial disputes at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission.
"The addition of Sarah now serves to consolidate our already deep and leading offering in China and across the Asia-Pacific region, where we can provide the full range of life sciences and other industry needs in relation to compliance advice, transactional support, and investigations and enforcement," said Gary Giampetruzzi, Global Chair of Paul Hastings' Health Sciences Practice.
Zhu will work alongside partners Shaun Wu, based in the Hong Kong office, and Sophie Han, based in Shanghai. In addition to these offices, Paul Hastings has a presence in Seoul, Beijing and Tokyo.
