McCarthy Denning boosts its international energy credentials with new Partner Henry Davey
Next generation City of London law firm McCarthy Denning has welcomed Henry Davey as a new Partner to its international Energy Practice. Henry, an established energy corporate M&A lawyer, was most recently a Consultant at Squire Patton Boggs, and prior to that, a Partner at Herbert Smith Freehills for more than 20 years.
With more than 30 years’ experience advising clients on international energy transactions spanning natural resources and renewables, Henry is a stalwart in the industry. His work encompasses all aspects of upstream and downstream oil and gas work, including project development, distribution and acquisitions and disposals. Henry’s cross-border practice is also increasingly focused on the renewable energy sector.
Henry is renowned for his ability to seamlessly navigate regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions and is recognised by Chambers UK for “possessing an excellent record for representing clients in energy M&A transactions.” Henry brings with him to McCarthy Denning an impressive roster of clients ranging from energy businesses and financial institutions to infrastructure funds and private equity investors. McCarthy Denning continues to expand its international energy practice, now a seven-strong team of partners, and Henry will have an instrumental role in developing the firm’s energy offering to clients. Henry’s appointment follows that of Energy Partner, Ashley Wright, who joined the firm last year.
Warren Wooldridge, Co-founder and CEO of McCarthy Denning, comments:
“McCarthy Denning is thrilled to welcome Henry to the team. His deal-making record spans three decades and his reputation in the international energy market speaks for itself. We’re excited to add to our cross-border, multidiscipline energy practice.”
Henry Davey, Partner in the Energy Team, says:
“I am delighted to join McCarthy Denning’s Energy Practice and work alongside colleagues who are recognised for their market-leading legal know-how in the industry. This new chapter provides me with the opportunity to grow my practice with a law firm that takes a different, but refreshing, approach to legal business.”
