The Japanese parliament is redefining the meaning of rape in order to change the country’s sexual assault laws as this type of cases have increased over the last decade and the perpetuators are not facing any kind of punishment. Japan is having a debate over the concept of consent as the society doesn’t completely understand what it means.

Many companies want the indigenous land to be converted into farms in order to gain economic benefits from the agricultural sector. This have brought the Indigenous people and sympathizers to protest against the possible new norms which have been affecting negatively the native inhabitants since the election of the far-right president, Jair Bolsonaro.
