If you are a lawyer, you should be aware that judges can be stressed

A survey conducted by the American Bar Association (ABA) Commission on Attorneys' Assistance Programs shows the clear symptoms of depression faced by countless judges in the United States

This survey has involved over 1,000 judges and was conducted before the arrival of the pandemic.

According to this survey, these are the main symptoms that judges suffer as a result of depression:

- Lack of initiative (22.9% of respondents)

- Preoccupation with negative thoughts (20%)

- Feeling that work has ceased to have meaning (17.8%)

- Feeling unable to wait until the end of the working day (16.7%)

- Being in a depressed state (15.3%)

Nearly 2% of judges surveyed have had thoughts of self-harm or even suicide

38.8% of the respondents say that stress affects their energy, while 36% of the respondents say that stress affects their sleep and 32.3% say that their concentration is being affected by stress.

How do judges try to manage stress? 88.7% of them say that stress is controlled by better nutrition. 82.3% say it helps them to exercise. 77.3% say they benefit from reading educational content about it, while 76.6% say it helps them to receive social support.

The study conducted by ABA recommends judges to make good habits on a regular basis such as sleeping better, taking good nutrition, exercising, meditating, improving social relations, among other actions.
