Gide advises French bank group Crédit Agricole CIB on acquiring a stake in Cobase
International law firm Gide announced in a press release from the 11th of June, 2020, that they counselled Crédit Agricole CIB, a French bank group, on the acquisition of a stake in Cobase, a Dutch multibank platform, alongside Nordea, the largest financial group in Northern Europe.
They join Cobase´s main shareholder ING, a global financial institution of Dutch origin, as shareholders of Cobase, with the objective to become commercial partners. Both Crédit Agricole CIB and Nordea have invested 10 million euros. Cobase has also secured a commercial partnership with Nordea, intending to conclude a similar agreement with Crédit Agricole CIB, allowing Cobase to develop activities with two major players in the financial world who will use their technology to serve their clients. For the future, Cobase anticipates that more banks may join as strategic or commercial partners.
Partner Guillaume Rougier-Brierre from Gide advised Crédit Agricole CIB, working together with Loyens & Loeff for the Dutch law aspects. Cobase and INGV were both advised by the firms Bird & Bird and Vandoorne, and Nordea was advised by Houthoff.
