Cuatrecasas counsels Partners Group on 2020´s largest transaction in Portugal´s agro-industrial sector
On the 18th of July 2020, Cuatrecasas announced that they have counselled The Partners Group on the acquisition of Rovensa, with an enterprise value of around 1 billion euros, making it the largest transaction of the year in the agro-industrial sector in Portugal.
The deal was closed at a difficult moment for the M&A market, as it has suffered significant drops in the vale and volume of transactions due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Partners Group, one of the largest private markets investment managers in the world, has acquired Rovensa (formerly Sapec Agro Business), a leading provider in the agrochemical industry, who specializes on crop nutrition, biocontrol, and protection products. The transaction values the company at an enterprise value of about 1 billion euros.
Cuatrecasas legal counselling was coordinated by Mariana Norton dos Reis, M&A partner in Lisbon, involving also Cuatrecasas´ offices in Madrid and Valencia. Cuatrecasas worked alongside the global law firm Ropes & Gray LLP headquartered in the US, on this deal.
