Baker McKenzie strengthens its Corporate/M&A practice in Germany. Meet its new lawyer

---

Germany is a country where Baker McKenzie has a considerable presence, especially in the Corporate and M&A sector

Baker McKenzie strengthens its Corporate/M&A department in its Munich office with the addition of Dr. Jakub Lorys, who currently works as a lawyer at Hengeler Mueller. Lorys is set to join the UK firm on 1 October.

Lorys is an experienced Corporate, Capital Markets, M&A, Private Equity and Venture Capital lawyer. He has been involved in transactions with Cellink, ESG and Hapag-Lloyd and other transactions mainly related to acquisition or sale transactions.

Lorys is looking forward to his new career:

"I am very much looking forward to working with my new colleagues in the team at Baker McKenzie. I am excited to help drive the further growth of the Corporate practice in Munich. Baker McKenzie's international platform is an excellent network to further expand and unite my business with the firm's client base."

This new addition follows on the heels of other signings made by Baker McKenzie Germany in the last year and a half. At the end of last year, the firm hired Joachim Ponseck as partner and Prof. Dr. Artur Swierczok as counsel in the Restructuring and Insolvency department.

In May 2020, Baker McKenze announced the expansion of the Corporate/M&A department in Germany with the addition of Manuel Metzner as counsel in the corporate and financial regulatory area. A year earlier, the firm recruited Dr. Silke Gantzckow as notary and corporate partner.

Baker McKenzie has a presence in this European country in the cities of Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich, making Germany an ideal niche for the firm's economic success.
